The Silk Nog Laziest Vegans Taste Test!

Which of the three of Silk Holiday Soymilks is the best? Nog? Pumpkin Spice? The new and wildly anticipated Mint Chocolate? Joining me is an esteemed panel of colleagues consisting of Princess Lasertron, Mr. Lasertron, Pookie Pie and Whoa Wren. We will determine which Silk Holiday Soymilk is right for you.

Original Nog:
Princess Lasertron- I want that with Baileys.
Mr. Lasertron- Not as thick as regular egg nog, like the taste, the texture is a let down.
Me- I love this stuff. Hook me up to an IV of it.
Pookie Pie- Good nog, I'd drink it straight from the carton. Nice nutmeg taste.

Chocolate Mint:
Princess Lasertron- York Peppermint Patty.
Me- Decent, but I probably wouldn't buy it again. Although I will come to your house and drink it.
Whoa Wren- Somewhere between the [now gone] Vitasoy and WestSoy. I like it.
Pookie Pie- Not enough peppermint.

Pumpkin Spice:
Mr. Lasertron- Nothing original. I mean, I like it, but..., most likely to drink warm.
Princess Lasertron- Subtle with a nice aftertaste, want to use to make milkshakes, it would taste like a muffin.
Me- I'm not really feeling this one.
Pookie Pie- It tastes like pumpkin pie in a cup.

The winners are:
Whoa Wren: Chocolate Mint
Princess Lasertron: Chocolate Mint
Mr. Lasertron: Pumpkin Spice
Me: Original Nog
Pookie Pie: Pumpkin Spice

So Pumpkin Spice and Chocolate Mint tied but the overall consensus is that everyone likes the idea of different seasonal soy milk flavors. Thank you to everyone that participated in the taste test!

  1. I really enjoy these kinds of testings! Haha. Here I can only get plain or chocolate soymilk and they are not tasty enough to drink plain even... eh. I wish I had those!

  2. I'm with you. Pumpkin spice is horrible. I think they should change the name to pumpkin pie spice because pumpkin spice leads me to believe it's pumpkiny with spice. Instead, it's gross.

I didn't even know they had a chocolate mint! I have to head to the health food store because I have yet to see nog and the season is here!

  3. I liked the chocolate mint! Pumpkin spice is good and all, but choco-mint is where it's at!

  4. I am also not a fan of the pumpkin spice. It doesn't taste like much of anything. I'm intrigued to try the chocolate mint though! Is it better (less bean-y) than the regular Silk chocolate?

  6. Now this is my kind of science (also, I covet those matreshka glasses). I'm still lamenting that we can't get VitaSoy Holly Nog here anymore, but I found the Silk original a reasonable substitute; the addition of dark rum makes up for any deficiencies!

  7. I love the pumpkin spice and the nog. They make the holidays more enjoyable! I have yet to see the chocolate mint around; looks like I'm going to Whole Foods tonight.

  15. Hmmmm... I wonder if I could find the chocolate mint to use in making the mint chocolate chip ice cream I have in the works this week. Yes -- I eat ice cream in the winter!
