Obsessive Confection Disorder just sent me an Easter sample box that is out of this world! OCD is back with their version of the Cadbury Creme Egg called the Sweet Dream Egg. Humongous and amazing, the flavor takes me back to the days of eating Cadbury eggs until my tummy hurt. These are an Easter must.
Rhesus Peanut Butter Eggs are a Vegan version of Reese's Peanut Butter Cups. These too were giant and quite addicting. Best yet, OCD is donating 20% of the profits from Rhesus PB Eggs to a primate organization. Win/win! If you are a pb and chocolate lover, you'll be in heaven. So delicious.
Chocolate Covered Peanut Butter Caramel is a newbie that OCD is testing right now and will hopefully be for sale soon. All I have to say is peanut butter caramel. Holy crap! It's a winner.
I always liked the Caramel Not Corn well enough, but the Chocolate Caramel Not Corn is on a whole other level. I'm gonna be real and tell you I just ate the whole tub today before writing this blog. It's the crunchiness equaled with the melt in you mouth flavor that makes it so addicting. A new classic, I say.
Violet Caramel is also another newbie. It's like a caramel meets a chocolate bar with apple & lemon juice plus violet extract. It is unlike anything I've ever had before and I love it. Hope you can try this and the rest of Obsessive Confection Disorder's treats soon. Have a Happy Easter!

Rescue Chocolate Mission Feral Fig Chocolate Bar For The Teal Cat Project
As you can see, the Mission Feral Fig bar is packed full of figs, almonds and dried cranberries. Quite chock full of goodness!
And if for some reason you are not a fan of figs or nuts, you're in luck! Rescue Chocolate has many different kinds of chocolate bars that are sure to meet your needs. Some of my favorites include the Peanut Butter Pit Bull and the Fakin' Bacon chocolate bars. Thank you again to Rescue Chocolate and thank you for everything you do for the animals!

The Laziest Vegans Top Ten Asks Danielle Konya
Danielle Konya is the founder and owner of Pennsylvania-based baked-goods empire, Vegan Treats. Founded in 1998 and located in Bethlehem (cue Billy Joel's Allentown), Vegan Treats is one of the top Vegan bakeries in the world. From cookies, cakes, cupcakes, doughnuts, rolls, CANNOLI, pies, cheesecake and recently, ice cream, Vegan Treats does it all. Danielle loves animals, (especially great apes like orangutans, gorillas and chimpanzees!) and has dedicated her life to help people switch to a Vegan lifestyle. There's no better way than to make amazing Vegan desserts!
One of the first times I went to New York, I had a Vegan Treats Red Velvet Cake from Atlas Cafe and thought it was amazing! Ever since then, I've always been on the lookout for anything from Vegan Treats. Unfortunately, Omaha is out reach for most things (except for the Vegan Cannoli that can be shipped right to your house for Thanksgiving!!!) so I have to live vicariously through the Vegan Treats Facebook page. Now, the question that everyone wants to know is, what kinda of pre-packaged cookie does Danielle like?
What is your favorite store-bought veggie burger?
I REALLY like Gardein Sliders. I bring those to the bakery for a fast lunch on occasion! Now they came out with new “chicken” ones, mmmm…. SO GOOD!
What is you favorite frozen dinner?
Tofutti Pizza Pizazz. I’ve been enjoying these on occasion for over a decade.
What is your favorite ice cream?
So Delicious Turtle Trails! Caramel and chocolate, need I say more.
What is your favorite chip or cracker?
Baked Ruffles, I’m addicted. What’s up with the new, small bags?
What is your favorite cereal?
I will eat one cereal for six months straight before moving on to a new cereal (for another six months). Right now, it’s 365 Frosted Wheat Squares. They’re delicious! In another month or so I’ll have to pick a new one, I guess. haha.
What is your favorite candy?
Thumbs Up (vegan Butterfinger bar) by Go Max Go Foods. I love all of their candy bars. They’re also my favorite airplane and movie snack.
What is your favorite cookie?
Uncle Eddies. It’s a toss up between Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip and Oatmeal Chocolate Chip. It’s such a rare occasion that I find them, though. The scarcity makes them taste even better!
What three pre-packaged food items would you take to a desert island?
Obsessive Confection Disorder Caramels! Wow, so good. If you haven’t tried them yet, you absolutely need to. I had those sea salt caramels in my pocket while trekking for orangutans in Indonesia, that’s how much I like them. Baked Ruffles, I wasn’t kidding when I said I was addicted. Australian vegan nougat made by the Australian Nougat Company. I think you can buy it on Vegan Essentials- you need some!
Name a product you would like Veganized?
The child in me really wants Lucky Charms! Those fruity freeze-dried marshmallows are a fond memory of my childhood and I crave them every time I’m looking for my new favorite cereal.
What are your favorite local and/or online stores for Vegan products? Pangea, Obsessive Confection Disorder and Vegan Essentials.
And that concludes The Laziest Vegans Top Ten. Thanks Danielle!

Happy 3rd Birthday, Laziest Vegans in the World!
I don't like to toot my horn too much, but I did just noticed that The Laziest Vegans in the World is three years old! What started out as a Facebook Group in 2009 morphed into a full-blown blog in 2010. The reason I started it is the same reason that I still do it: just for fun. If it ever stops being fun, I'll stop doing it. What keeps me going (despite not being a very good writer) is the excitement of when someone discovers a new product because of the my blog, Facebook Page or Twitter.
I'm also celebrating my 10th year of Veganism, so in a sense I'm re-energized. I like helping those people who are newly Vegan or are thinking about make the jump. The people who aren't very good cooks but still wish to be Vegan and need all the help they can get. I hope my blog is a non-judgmental place where people can go for info on Vegan convenience food.
To celebrate my 3rd year blogging, I picked a few past blogs that were fun to write and, I think, worth revisiting.
Daiya Day! (April 1st, 2010)
This blog post was basically celebrating that fact that Daiya was finally available in retail packages. You newbies may not know, but the only way to get Daiya prior to April 1st 2010 was to get it by the pound at your Whole Foods deli (if you were lucky) or to buy it in bulk online. So it was a freakin' revelation to be able to buy Daiya in little baggies. Boy, we've come a long way.
Amy's Proof of Purchase Gift Box! (January 24th, 2011)
After FINALLY getting to the bottom of the whole Amy's Proof of Purchase dilemma (it was keeping me up at night), I redeemed my 25 Amy's points and got this amazing box with a ton cool stuff in it. Although the gift box is no longer available, there is still a program in place to get your Amy's points redeemed for cool swag. Lesson learned, don't throw away those Amy's points!
The Laziest Vegans Top Ten Asks Moby (July 6th, 2011)
I've always been a big fan of Moby, so it was a no-brainer to ask him if he was interested in taking my questionnaire, The Laziest Vegans Top Ten. Luckily, I met him (formally) the year before and I was hoping he would say yes. Amazingly, he did! I think the reason he chose to do it is so he could show that even famous people eat Amy's Enchilada frozen dinners. And for that, I'll be forever grateful.
Vega One All-In-One Nutritional Shakes (March 5th 2012)
In what has become my most popular blog post ever, I introduced the new Vega One to my readers. I had been skeptical up until this point because the original Vega was loved and revered. It seemed insane to mess with such a sure thing. Luckily for the entire world, Vega made the right decision. Now more popular than ever, Vega has gone beyond Vegan athletes and has made its way to everyday people looking for a quick, nutritionally dense fix.
Teal Cat Project Valentine's Day Sampler from Obsessive Confection Disorder (January 20th, 2013) and Lagusta's Lucious Tabby Toffees For The Teal Cat Project (March 13th, 2012)
I know, I know. You're like, "you just posted this!" True, it was only a month ago, but I felt like it was worth revisiting. When Isa first come up with the idea for Teal Cat Project back in '10, I thought she was crazy. It sounded like too much work and not very appealing to me at the time. Luckily she didn't listen to me and soldiered on. It taught me two things: 1.) never underestimate Isa and 2.) it feels good to donate your time and energy to a worthwhile cause. Almost two years later, Lagusta's Lucious Bonbons and Obsessive Confection Disorder have donated their time, resources, talent and money in the name of the Teal Cat Project. Fortunately I have a Vegan food blog I can use to promote such wonderful candies. These were amazing and I look forward to new delectable collaborations in the future.
So that's three years in a nutshell. Hope you enjoyed it, and here's to three more!

Teal Cat Project Valentine's Day Sampler from Obsessive Confection Disorder
Obsessive Confection Disorder and The Teal Cat Project have teamed up to create one of the cutest Valentine's Day boxes out there, The Teal Cat Project Valentine's Day Sampler! I've raved about OCD's Twix and Easter Veggs before, but now Melodi has brought cuteness to a whole new level. In this V-Day sampler you get 2 Mel's Ways, 2 Rose Petal Caramels, 2 Love Bomb Lollies and 4 Love Nips. A nice variety and something for everyone. But the best part is that 100% of the profits go right to The Teal Cat Project, a great organization that I'm proud to be a part of. Teal Cat Project takes used kitty tchotchkes, paints them teal, numbers them and then sells them off in campaigns. Then the proceeds go towards Cat Trap-Neuter-Return organizations around the United States. A great win-win this Valentine's Day! Let's look a little closer inside the box...
You get 2 lavender & mint shortbread kitties with chocolate whiskers and 2 vanilla bean shortbread hearts dipped in chocolate. I've never had a lavender cookie before, but I'm here to tell you they are delicious. It's about time Meowmy (the Teal Cat Project mascot) had his own cookie, even if he got a little smushed =^..^=
OCD is known for their caramels and the Rose Petal Caramel lives up to the legend. Fresh rose petal tangerine caramel with bittersweet chocolate. And an interesting and eye catching addition are the 23-carat gold flakes within the caramel. I don't think I've ever consumed gold (there is a very funny David Cross joke on the subject), but honestly, if you didn't see it, you never would have known it was in there. So, it's a fancy touch that is sure to impress your significant other.
I know Mel's Way very, very well. It's basically a Vegan Milky Way (aka layers of nougat and caramel drenched in dark chocolate.) Rich and decadent just like you like it. Probably my favorite part of the box.
And of course you can't have a Valentine's Day without a chocolate heart. In this case, it's the Love Bomb Lolly. A salted caramel pop dipped in bittersweet chocolate. I loved the sweet and salty mixture. Quite the treat...hopefully your loved one shares!
So, if you are in the market for some V-Day candy, make sure to take a look at The Teal Cat Project Valentine's Day Sampler. I think it has a lot of variety and I know it's produced with love. And the best part is that kitties will benefit from your choice!

OCD Sweet Stix aka Vegan Twix
A couple of months ago, I was able to sample the amazing "Vegan Twix" from Obsessive Confection Disorder. They're called Sweet Stix and they're something I've been waiting a long time for! Twix was always one of my favorite candy bars, so I've been pretty bummed for the last 10 year or so. But thanks to Melodi, I can stuff my face with delicious Sweet Stix!
Rich and buttery caramel makes Sweet Stix light years better than your old boring Twix. Handmade with love, these Stix are wide and chubby, not the long and skinny bars of old. Also, I enjoy the high quality chocolate and assorted natural ingredients that make it so tasty. Four Sweet Stix come to a box but I guarantee you will inhale them right away.
So if you've been longing for your Twix fix, the answer is finally here!

Obsessive Confection Disorder Fundraiser!
Earlier this month, Melodi Brooke Donahue from Obsessive Confection Disorder started a fundraiser to help fund new equipment to automate her candy making process. Melodi will be able quadruple her candy output and meet the demand for her delicious Vegan treats. For example, Melodi has an amazing Vegan "Twix" which I have sampled. She would love to offer this item on her website, but without automation, it would be impossible to fill all of the orders. I'm sure some of you have tried O.C.D.'s mouth watering caramels (which includes new flavors, apple and balsamic tomato) but there is more to O.C.D. then just caramel. Melodi gave me a couple of her new items to sample, which I hope you will be able try soon!
This is the Play Date, the Vegan version of a PayDay bar (mine a got a little melty due to this end of the world 150 degree heat outside). It's a yummy caramel peanut bar with ingredients such as coconut milk and fresh lemon juice. It also has some Vegan Bee Free Honee for you honey lovers out there. I'd love for Melodi to recreate every candy bar that others have ignored or passed over.
This is something that isn't even on the website yet: Apricot Tequila Pate de Fruit. These little squares of fresh fruit are some chewy goodness. Melodi told me that the apricots are from her garden! I really thought these were divine. The only problem is there were only four and I ate them like there was no tomorrow.
Please check out the O.C.D. website for other goodies and better yet, consider donating to the Vegan caramel cause!

Obsessive Confection Disorder Easter 'Veggs'
Today is Easter and, yes, I've done Easter candy posts for the past two years (2012 and 2011), but I have just one more left in me. Obsessive Confection Disorder has come up with an adorable candy assortment inside an unused egg carton. Inside the 'Veggs' carton you'll find six caramels (two vanilla, two lavender and two agave lime), six pieces of WTFudge and two salted caramel lollis.

What a cute assortment of candy! WTFudge is buttery, chocolaty and delicious, studded with fun crispy stuff like potato chips and rice krispies. It also has pecans and toasted coconut. Somehow all of the flavors really manage to shine through. It's addictive! I've had the caramels a few times now and as always they're rich, creamy, chewy and tasty.

An up close look inside an egg reveals some delicious WTFudge with some caramel on the side.
Thank you to OCD for coming up with innovative and delicious Vegan treats!
