The WayFare Pudding Laziest Vegans Taste Test

WayFare Foods was nice enough to send their new pudding my way! The three flavors are Vanilla, Butterscotch and Chocolate. The puddings are made from millet, lima beans, rice, oat bran and oats which is amazing to me. So if you need a change of pace from soy or almond, you now have another option for pudding. Me, Veganette and KB had a little taste test.

Veganette felt the vanilla pudding tasted like fresh vanilla bean and had a bright and prominent flavor. This was her favorite of the three. I also enjoyed the vanilla flavor and appreciated the creaminess. KB licked the empty vanilla cup and said "meow?"

The butterscotch was my favorite. Maybe it's because I haven't had butterscotch pudding for so long. Veganette felt it tasted like "buttery cotton candy," in a good way. KB said "lick, lick, lick." This must be his favorite, most likely because he is the same color as butterscotch.

Chocolate was very cocoa-y to me, almost cake batter like. Chocolate in general isn't my favorite but I would try it again. Veganette loved it and felt it tasted like creamy milk chocolate. All KB said was "sniff, lick, sniff."

It's neat to see an all Vegan company branch out and try different things. You would never guess in a million years that this pudding has lima beans and millet. Go WayFare!

The Go Max Go Bars Laziest Vegans Taste Test!

Back once again with the Laziest Vegans Taste Test! This time we tackle the world famous Go Max Go Bars. These candy bars took the Vegan world by storm last year and they haven't looked back. They're facsimiles of everyone's favorite non-Vegan bars: Almond Joy, Three Musketeers, Snickers and Milky Way. Our esteemed panel of food connoisseurs have sampled and reviewed each bar thoroughly. Joining me for this candy bar rendezvous is Jenny K, Dave Laser, Princess Lasertron and Veganette. Let see the results shall we?

Mahalo:
Jenny K- ...mmm....I love the coconut-chocolaty-ness.
Dave Laser- Oh god I used to love Almond Joy! A very sufficient doppelganger!
Princess Lasertron- I don't really like coconut but this is super good. Love the nuts.
Veganette- Satisfies all of my coconut macaroon needs.
Me- These are good and different but I couldn't eat them all the time.

Buccaneer:
Jenny K- Great flavor, but really chewy.
Dave Laser- Caramel overload, but in a good way.
Princess Lasertron- Caramel chocolaty! A little too gummy for me.
Veganette- This is my favorite because I have been chasing the nougat for years. Finally I have her in my grasp. She shan't get away again!
Me- My second favorite, a very smooth candy bar.

Jokerz:
Jenny K- Just like I remember Snickers.
Dave Laser- Not normally into peanuts as candy.
Princess Lasertron- *sample stolen* WTF?
Veganette- This could make one man weep and another man cry. In a good way!
Me- Nutty and sweet! Nice for a noontime snack.

Twilight:
Jenny K- Super caramel flavor! It's my close second.
Dave Laser- Very similar to Milky Way but without the garbage.
Princess Lasertron- Too much caramel- like a Rolo. Chocolate gum!
Veganette- I love it but it tastes more caramel than nougat. I would like these in a box of chocolates.
Me- The best. It restores my faith in the Vegan diet. We can make ANYTHING Vegan.

Winners:
Jenny K- Mahalo
Dave Laser- Mahalo
Princess Lasertron- Mahalo
Veganette- Buccaneer
Me- Twilight

By a clear majority, Mahalo wins the crown. Thanks to everyone who participated and of course special thanks to Go Max Go for making Vegans happy!

The Virgil's Cream Soda Laziest Vegans Taste Test!

We had so much fun with the Silk Nog taste test that I decided to hold court once again. This time we are taking on Virgil's Cream Sodas plus Root Beer. Joining me in this joyous exercise is Mr. Laserton, Princess Lasertron, Pookie Pie and Jenny K (self-proclaimed Izze fan).

Orange Cream Soda:
Mr. Lasertron- Notes of clementine and tangerine. Didn't taste any vanilla but it was decent.
Princess Lasertron- *Due to my selfeshness, Princess Lasertron did not get to taste the Orange Cream Soda*
Pookie Pie- Tastes likes melted orange candy. DO NOT LIKE.
Jenny K- (Shakes head no) Can I pour this out?
Me- I loved the strong & sweet orange popsicle flavor. It's not an everyday drink but I do love it.

Black Cherry Cream Soda:
Mr. Lasertron- Distinct Wild Cherry flavor, I enjoyed it.
Princess Lasertron- Just tastes like Cherry.
Pookie Pie- Tastes like Dr. Browns Cherry Soda. I can't taste the cream and that's good. Makes me want a Kosher Hot Dog with Sour Kraut (Vegan of course). Going back for seconds!
Jenny K- It doesn't have a strong flavor but the flavor it does have is good.
Me- Kinda surprised by the cherry flavor. It reminded me of cherry cough drops (the good ones). I'd totally buy it again.

Cream Soda:
Mr. Lasertron- Wow that's really good!
Princess Lasertron- Tastes like Root Beer Float with the fanciest vanilla ice dream.
Pookie Pie- This the business. They really captured the essence of creaminess.
Jenny K- Tastes like fake vanilla.
Me- One of the best sodas I've ever had. Tastes like creamy heaven. Also, Amy loves Virgil's Cream Soda!

Root Beer:
Mr. Lasertron- It tastes like Root Beer.
Princess Lasertron- I can taste the anise and wintergreen.
Pookie Pie- It's my favorite Root Beer
Jenny K- I'm not a huge Root Bear fan but it's not too bad. Better than other Root beers.
Me- A good Root Beer but it was the least of the four for me.

Winners:
Mr. Lasertron: Cream Soda
Princess Lasertron: Cream Soda
Pookie Pie: Cream Soda
Jenny K: Black Cherry
Me: Cream Soda

So by a landslide, Cream Soda is crowned champion! Thanks to everyone who participated in the taste test. See you next time!

The Silk Nog Laziest Vegans Taste Test!

Which of the three of Silk Holiday Soymilks is the best? Nog? Pumpkin Spice? The new and wildly anticipated Mint Chocolate? Joining me is an esteemed panel of colleagues consisting of Princess Lasertron, Mr. Lasertron, Pookie Pie and Whoa Wren. We will determine which Silk Holiday Soymilk is right for you.

Original Nog:
Princess Lasertron- I want that with Baileys.
Mr. Lasertron- Not as thick as regular egg nog, like the taste, the texture is a let down.
Me- I love this stuff. Hook me up to an IV of it.
Pookie Pie- Good nog, I'd drink it straight from the carton. Nice nutmeg taste.

Chocolate Mint:
Princess Lasertron- York Peppermint Patty.
Me- Decent, but I probably wouldn't buy it again. Although I will come to your house and drink it.
Whoa Wren- Somewhere between the [now gone] Vitasoy and WestSoy. I like it.
Pookie Pie- Not enough peppermint.

Pumpkin Spice:
Mr. Lasertron- Nothing original. I mean, I like it, but..., most likely to drink warm.
Princess Lasertron- Subtle with a nice aftertaste, want to use to make milkshakes, it would taste like a muffin.
Me- I'm not really feeling this one.
Pookie Pie- It tastes like pumpkin pie in a cup.

The winners are:
Whoa Wren: Chocolate Mint
Princess Lasertron: Chocolate Mint
Mr. Lasertron: Pumpkin Spice
Me: Original Nog
Pookie Pie: Pumpkin Spice

So Pumpkin Spice and Chocolate Mint tied but the overall consensus is that everyone likes the idea of different seasonal soy milk flavors. Thank you to everyone that participated in the taste test!
