Upton's Naturals Seitan Tamales

Upton's Naturals is a Chicago based company that specializes in seitan. I've been snacking on these Upton's Naturals Chorizo-Style Seitan Tamale con Mole's for a couple months now and I love them! I'm not an expert on tamales so I can't vouch for their authenticity but I find them very filling and delicious. Since I'm always on the go, I like something that I can heat up and eat quickly.

As you can see, the tamale is full of black beans and seitan which makes it a hearty meal for its small size. Taste-wise the tamale has a bit of spice but it's mild. Upton's suggests steaming as the cooking method, or if not, microwaving is ok. All you do is open one side of the packaging and throw it in the microwave for 2 minutes. I only hope Upton's branches out and makes more of these ready to eat products, keep up the great work!

    1. Sadly, WF and TJ are kinda the only game in town. Hy-Vee will order stuff sometimes and Bakers has a decent selection, but I'll be honest and tell you I buy 90% of my groceries at WF.
